Adolescence is the exciting yet stressful time when children transition into adulthood. Many rapid changes and developments take place during this time, and it’s not always a smooth ride. It is during this developmental period where teens will begin to discover who they are and where they belong as they prepare for adult roles and relationships.

Parent-teen conflict may be on the rise during this period of adolescent development where they are exploring their identity and seeking independence. Yet, teens need a close relationship with their parents more than ever.

Counselling for teens gives them a safe place to explore who they are, discover their strengths, develop emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills, and build resilience. This process can help strengthen the parent-child relationship.
