Counselling for Children

Children can show anxiety or excessive worries and persistent sadness as a reaction to environmental stressors, such as trauma, changes in the family dynamics, loss of a loved one, school issues, and/or experiencing bullying.

In therapy, children will have the opportunity to express themselves through art or talk therapy using evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) or Trauma-focused CBT.

A child's therapeutic journey will routinely include their parents. This deepens the parent-child relationship and enhances the child's progress by ensuring that parents are able to support their child outside of therapy.
Attachment is a safety net for healthy development and is something that is shared between children and parents. Secure attachment provides a good balance of comfort and safety on the one hand, and support for learning new things about the world on the other. Attachment needs are expressed differently as children grow and develop.
Always be Bigger, Stronger, Wiser & Kind. Whenever possible: follow your child's lead. Whenever necessary: take charge.
